The neighborhood’s ravines, bike trails, and access to the Olentangy River corridor create a unique connection to nature rarely found so close to downtown Columbus. Clintonville also has a rich and fascinating history. The area served as a stop on the Underground Railroad during the mid-1800s, with Clinton Chapel playing an important role in that history. Clintonville was also once home to Olentangy Park, one of the country’s largest amusement parks during the early 20th century. The park featured roller coasters, a zoo, canoe rentals, dance halls, and what was once considered the largest swimming pool in the world. Though the amusement park is long gone, its historic carousel still operates today at the Columbus Zoo and Aquarium.

One of Clintonville’s most treasured amenities is Whetstone Park and the Park of Roses, a 13-acre public rose garden that hosts concerts, weddings, community events, and the annual Rose Festival. Combined with excellent access to parks, bike paths, local businesses, and major commuter routes, Clintonville offers a rare balance of charm, convenience, and community connection.
